Kirtland trip 2016

We decided it was time to take the boys up to Kirtland to see all the historical church sights. We ended up making it a big Laney family trip during spring break. We left Friday afternoon and got to our hotel at 8pm. The boys headed straight for the pool.
In the morning we went a little further north to see Lake Erie. The boys were excited to go to the beach. I wish we had better weather. It was windy and cold. It even snowed.
Next we headed to Kirtland to see he temple. We stopped in the visitors center and took the tour. We saw the Whitney store.
Before going to the temple we ate lunch. Then we toured the Kirtland temple.
Our last place to visit was the Johnson farm.
From here we headed back home. On our drive home we went through a lot of snow and heavy wind. We had such weird weather all day.
We feel so blessed to be able to take this short trip. We arrived home safe and enjoyed the time we had with the family.

News years Eve/day

We had the whole family over for New Year's Eve. All the cousins had fun playing. The adults had fun playing heads up. The next morning we went out to the farm so the boys could play with their RC cars. Within the first fifteen years plastic on the cars was broken. We warmed up in the barn when we got too cold.

Grandpa and grandma Laney's Christmas 2015

We had Christmas from Alaska. Mom and dad brought back a lot of souvenirs from their Alaska trip. My favorite was the beautiful jade jewelry I got. The boys got tshirts, hats, socks and necklaces with bears, Eagles and moose on them.

November 2015

A few things that happened in November.
Evan and Reuben went to Big Als scout camp. This was Evan's first scout camp. My friend Becky gave us Bengals tickets. And Logan busted his lip on the bedside table while wrestling with Reuben.

Christmas morning 2015

This was the first year the boys knew about Santa. I will definitely do things differently next year. They wanted to shop for their own presents. So there weren't very many surprises under the tree. Now they understand how much fun it is to be surprised. Next year we will go back to a Christmas list so that they can be surprised. We did start a new tradition this year. Last year I bought the boys each their own nut cracker. This year I bought another nutcracker to add to their collection. Their nutcrackers this year are on music boxes. A couple of highlights from Christmas this year were new Nerf guns, rip sticks and remote control cars.

Christmas Eve 2015

Christmas Eve is always spent at the Felsheims house. We arrived at 1:00 and ate potato soup for lunch. We enjoyed hanging out with the immediate family. We exchanged gifts around four. I made a wreath for Debbie.  Then the extended family arrived at 6:00. We love getting to visit with everyone. Reuben was Santa's helper again this year. He did such a great job that I think he might be the permanent "helper".
